When do festival tickets go on sale?

I would like to go to some festivals next year (UK), but i dont know when tickets go on sale, and i dont want to miss out because i know they sell out quickly. I think they go on sale at different times for different festivals. Can anyone tell me when tickets for the popular ones like leeds and Isle of Wight etc.. go on sale??
