How do comets differ from meteors and asteroids? ?

Meteors are a rocky or metal based object that enter the earths atmosphere, Meteorites are the same thing as meteors only they make contact with the earths surface (impact) some of which may be only the size of a grain of sand.. Asteroids are large rocky or metal objects that come from the asteroid belt which is found between Mars and Jupiter and follow the typical orbit around the sun and are found on the same plane that the planets are. Both asteroids and or meteors are objects that are left over from the formation of the inner solar system (Mercury,Venus,Earth,Mars) and are found within the solar system. Some people hypothesize that the Asteroid belt was actually a planet that was destroyed. Comets are objects that consist of snow/ice/gases and enter from outside the solar system and can enter the solar system at any angle or plane of trajectory.
